SJC Exchange Library

Using imagery, reflection, dialogue, and tool kits, participants will engage in an experience that calls our attention to language and the power it holds in shaping a more humanizing narrative for those directly impacted by the justice system. Facilitated by Nexus Community Partners, JustLeadershipUSA, and a local Harris County resident, attendees will critically examine language use within the SJC and learn about ways to move towards more inclusive language that can result in shifts towards a people- and community-centered narrative surrounding incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.
