NLC and NACo jointly propose a poster that 1) features strategies and early results from the five Intergovernmental Policy Academy (IGA) sites, and 2) introduces the new Emerging Adults Community of Practice (CoP) as a resource for SJC sites. The poster will build upon the introduction of IGA policy goals in May, and provide additional context about ways to reduce the numbers of young adults going to jail based upon experience in Illinois and other states. The CoP will focus on effective strategies for a population arrested at a rate of twice its incidence in the general population.
