This webinar discusses how legal principles from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Supreme Court's 1999 Olmstead decision can be applied to assist SJC sites in ensuring that people with mental illness are successfully diverted from jails and the criminal justice system. Presenters discuss how mental health, criminal justice, and correctional programs can work together to meet sites' ADA obligations and create an array of services that reduce the likelihood that people with mental illness will enter the criminal justice system.
