To better understand the factors that drive success in criminal caseflow management, the National Center for State Courts, with funding from Arnold Ventures, embarked on the largest study of criminal case processing ever undertaken. The research team assembled case level data on criminal cases from 90 jurisdictions in 21 states, and visited eight courts that effectively process criminal cases to find out how they do what they do. This session will focus on the lessons learned from this data-driven undertaking on what is essential to success in criminal caseflow management.
