This panel will explored the critical role of incarcerated women in jail reform efforts. They focused on why it is important to focus on women in efforts to reduce overuse of jails; what role can local governments and system decision makers play in keeping women from coming into the system in the first place; and what is the best way to engage women with lived experience.
