New Jersey, dating to the 1970’s and in response to emerging standards from the American Bar Association, developed case time standards and a complex backlog measuring and reporting system for all of New Jersey’s Superior Court.These standards and methodology have been used to the present day, although the time standard for serious criminal cases has increased from 120 to 180 days.
