BPD, in partnership with PRI, will provide an overview of LEAD principles, a basic overview of the opioid epidemic — including options for intervention, specifically at intercepts 0 and 1, using the SIM. Finally, we'll highlight the department’s pilot LEAD efforts, which began when a Boise Police officer realized “We can’t arrest ourselves out of this problem.” We will highlight the key partnerships needed for the program, preliminary data, successes, barriers and plans for the future.
