On Thursday March 26, 2020, NLC launched our Criminal Justice Policy Advisors Network (CJPAN) via a virtual convening. Below are some high level notes on the outcomes of the launch.



▪ The virtual launch event for the Criminal Justice Policy Advisors Network (CJPAN) brought together at least 13 city representatives for two hours on Thursday March 26, 2020

▪ In addition to city leaders, the event featured Bria Gillum, Program Officer with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and included representatives from the National Association of Counties, National Conference of State Legislatures, Pretrial Justice Institute and several National League of Cities staff members

▪ The event highlighted common areas of concern/focus from over a dozen cities 

▪ Attendees also discussed the justice related interventions in their cities related to COVID-19

▪ The event concluded with a deeper dive into the Safety + Justice Challenge strategies and results to date in two cities, Milwaukee and Philadelphia (special thanks to Rachael Eisenberg and Mandy Potapenko)
