NCVC has organized a series of roundtable discussions that will inform victims, survivors, and local crime victim advocates of local jurisdictional particpation in the MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge and more broadly, look at the victim’s role in front-end criminal justice reform. This document outlines what was shared at the Philadelphia roundtable held in September 2016. Using the findings from the national and local level roundtables, NCVC will draft a core set of principles for victim engagement in the front-end criminal justice reform movement. These core principles, along with the other results from the roundtables will be presented during a plenary session at the National Center for Victims of Crime National Training Institute in Portland, Oregon, in December of this year.#victimservices#Victims
